Milton Arana, a Belizean born author and writer, has won many national competitions in poetry, essays and short stories. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of West Indies, followed by his Master’s and PhD in education. Arana later migrated to Canada where he was employed as a counsellor for the Canadian government. This was a very challenging position as he served the Governor of Manitoba from 1997-2004. Whilst he resided in Canada, he also embraced his talents as a school teacher and principal for two years.
Milton Arana moved back to Belize and due to his love and commitment to writing, decided to found his own company, Belizean Business. Not only was he the owner but he was also one of the authors.
Consistently dedicated, with the vision and skills to be among the best, Milton Arana has undoubtedly made his mark on Belizean history and literature. He published ‘Belizean Breezes – The Early Poem of Milton Arana’ in 1997, and also ‘Cry Wolf: the Story of Hurricane Hattie’ in 1993.
