Armatrading has had a remarkably long, consistent career spanning 40 years.  She has released 18 studio albums as well as several live albums and compilations. In addition to recording, Armatrading has toured extensively and appeared in high profile concerts. She also presented a five-part series on BBC Radio Four called ‘Joan Armatrading’s Favourite Guitarist’ in July 2009, in which she talked to guitarists about their music and their technique. In addition to her music career, after five years of studying, Armatrading gained a BA (Hons) degree in History from the Open University, of which she is now a trustee.
A consummate performer Joan Armatrading is indeed the whole package, an excellent song writer, a powerful vocalist and as a guitarist, she is certainly one of the best players of today.  Armatrading is a self-taught musician who has always had a love and appreciation for the art. She has arranged as well as played every instrument, with the exception of drums on her last three albums. Her sublime music has touched millions of people all over the world. Joan Armatrading Caribbean 1st absolutely salutes you.
We need your help

This page is not exclusive to those achievers that are in the public eye, in fact we intend to put the onus on those that the general public know very little about.

We need YOU to nominate: a family member, a friend or acquaintance, a group or even an organisation that has made great strides in their chosen field.
