Derick Parry was a West Indian cricketer who took part in 12 Tests and 6 one-day International matches representing the islands. In 1977/78 he saved the West Indies team in the 4th test against Australia. He got his test-best, 65 in the 2nd innings and took 5 for 15 leading to Australia’s collapse. This West Indies win meant that the team took home the West Indies Frank Worrel trophy.
In 1982 Parry was part of the West Indies team that took part in the ‘rebels’ tour in South Africa. This was an extremely controversial tour and not something that we want to delve into. Whatever his reason was for going we respect his decision. It cannot be denied that he was part of a very brave bunch of men who desired to show the nation, show the world their skill in a sport they adored. Derick Parry was an excellent and extremely talented cricketer and worked hard to represent his country and the nation. Derick Parry we at Caribbean1st absolutely salute you.
We need your help

This page is not exclusive to those achievers that are in the public eye, in fact we intend to put the onus on those that the general public know very little about.

We need YOU to nominate: a family member, a friend or acquaintance, a group or even an organisation that has made great strides in their chosen field.
