Dean Oliver Barrow, born on 2nd March 1951 in Belize City, was an attorney by trade, but later decided to pursue politics. Having earned his LLM from the University of Miami in 1951, Dean Barrow began his career as a legal worker in a law firm in 1973. Dean Barrow became a partner in 1977. He later left to establish his own law firm. 
In 2009 Dean Barrow married his long term girlfriend Kim Simplis-Barrow and together they have one child. Dean Oliver Barrow served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Attorney General from 1984-1989 and 1993-1998. He was also Deputy Prime Minister from 1993-1998. Dean Barrow was elected as the first black Prime Minister in Belize on 7th Feb 2008. He was then re-elected in 2012. Dean Barrow, won his third time as Prime Minister in November 2015. As Prime Minister, Dean Barrow is committed to the reconstruction of his island. 
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II announced that Barrow was appointed as a Member of the Privy Council on the 1st March 2016. Hence, the Prime Minister is now legitimately referred to as the Right Honourable Dean Barrow. 

Dean Oliver Barrow has been very busy dealing with his countries business, making the people proud of him. Being the first black prime minister of Belize, Dean Barrow is showing all young black people you can do what you set your mind to and always aim to get to the top. Caribbean 1st absolutely salutes you.
